Housing

The guard house located on the same property as the office is a common place to live for first year and veteran guards, it holds about 16-20 guards. Rent is 80$ per week and is deducted straight from your paycheck. There are six bedrooms in the guardhouse each with bunk beds and dressers. Each room also has its own closet, half bathroom, and mini refrigerator. Both mens and womens showers are on the first floor. Guys upstairs ladies, downstairs. The guardhouse has a lounge room with couches and this is also where the daily stand assignment is posted. The guard house is also equipped with a washer and dryer. There are security cameras around the perimeter of the property and the house, and it records on tapes 24/7. While the guardhouse doesn’t have a kitchen it does have a refrigerator and a microwave, this is offset by the fact that many local restaurants provide lifeguard discounts and on Wednesdays, JBS management provides a pizza party after surf school. If you decide to live in the house there are a few rules.

  1. Trash must be taken out when full
  2. Premises must be kept clean and sanitary, if not fines can be distributed to tenants
  3. A/C unit must be turned off during the day (waste of power, go green)
  4. Be courteous to other guards
