Emergency Response Team (ERT)

ERT is a volunteer position decided upon at the beginning of the season with the team consisting of both rookie and veteran guards. Members will be expected to roam the beach with a partner and a mule (cart) from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm stationed at either the North end of South end, overlapping in Central. During this time both teams are given a police radio and must check in at the start of their shift, this is done as follows; “lifeguards teams one and two in service”. The radio must be left on and listened to throughout the shift and used and responded to if there is an emergency. At the end of the shift, the team is responsible for washing the ATV and filling it with gas. At the end of the season, the team is treated by JBS for supper as a thank you.
