01 Getting Started


Welcome to Module One Getting Started. Let’s go ahead and activate our account. In the welcome email, you should find your username as well as a link to set your password. Your username consists of your first name, your last name, followed by a hashtag, and your ID number. This user ID is very important. It’s used to track your payroll notes, orders, and essentially inside of the app.

So please be sure to take this and write it down. Now let’s go ahead and set your password. The password link expires in 48 hours, so be sure to go ahead and set your password as soon as you receive the email. When you click on the link, you’ll be asked to enter a password. They must be longer than six characters and must contain at least one number when you’ve set your password.

The system will automatically set your username for you the first time. However, it will not do this the second or third time, so make sure you have this number written down so that you can utilize it in the future. Once I’ve logged in, it’s going to immediately ask me to set my location. There are several reasons for us wanting you to set a location.

Number one, the location is used as a shift manager depending upon your shift location; This is what location you will choose for the day. Your location selection changes each day. So be sure that when you log in, you update it with the correct one. For this one, I’m going to use location 16. The second reason you want to make sure you set this is because it tracks your payroll.

The system will automatically tally up all of your tips and commissions and ensure that you receive the proper pay at the end of the week. I’ll now click continue and go into the app. Now I am logged into the app. I want to make this a little better for myself though. You may notice that the bottom bar down here says RentalsJBS.com, and I’m kind of wasting a bunch of space.

Also, I don’t want to have to go and type in rentaljbs.com every single day. I’d rather have it just click for my desktop, so I’ll go ahead and click the little arrow button and I’ll scroll down to add the home screen. Clicking that will then bring up this window that allows me to save it and add it to my home screen.

Now, when I click on this, it’ll actually bring it up and open it full screen like a regular application. From here, I can click on this link at the top, which will bring me to the login page then I can use my login information that I set earlier and log in. Now, remember, each day you will have to choose your new location and it will ask you to log in each time.

So as I mentioned before. Please keep that username stored somewhere. There are several ways to reset your password. The first way to do it is to open up the navigation on the top right corner and head down to my account. Inside your account page you can click change password and this will allow you to change your password if you are not logged-in and you could not remember what your password is.

We have a way of doing that as well. From the login screen you can click Forgot your password, enter your email address, and then click send reset password link. This will send you a new link to your email that you can click and then change your password. We have created two identical apps to help you learn how to use the application.

The first time you receive your welcome email, you’ll be logging in to the training area, which is this yellow one. Inside the training area, you’ll be able to create orders. You’ll be able to create rentals. You’ll be able to create customers and generally just play around the app consequence free. It’s a training ground. It allows you to learn the application without feeling like you have too much pressure on you.

We’ll go into more detail on how to actually utilize the training area in the next video.
